Amadalia woke up in her bed, noticing her husband was lying next to her. He hadn't been back when she had gone to sleep, meaning he had come back during the daylight hours. as the team had finished another mission, everyone had noticed one thing was off today. Amadalia, usually calm, controlled and focused, had been grumpy today. And while they had managed to get their hands on their target, Amadalia had beaten him into an inch of his vampire life. For an eighteen year old vampire, Amadalia was tall, beautiful, looked like a noble young lady. Normally either a calm expression, but now she seemed to be pissed off.

The sun was still in the sky, though it would soon set behind the distant mountains. At which point, the creatures of the night would wake up. However, the rumbling of the earth, the stirring winds and the loud noises, were likely to wake the vampires sooner than usual.

Amadalia walked towards the front door of her family’s mansion and was about to leave, when the door was opened from the outside by her mother’s servants. Her mother walked into the mansion, followed by other vampires of noble families. Amadalia quickly steps aside and respectfully bowed her head. Some of the nobles looked at her and smiled, while others ignored her. as Amadalia looked up, she wondered what her mother had to discuss with the heads of other noble families.
for a moment, as she saw the nobles enter her mother’s study, Amadalia considered listening in on the conversation. But, with these being adult nobles, th
